Neurology Reviews journal recently reported findings from a study that healthy older persons taking omega-3 supplements did no better on cognitive performance tests than persons taking placebo. The study looked at 3,500 participants over a period of six months, as well as 24 months.  The study authors acknowledged  that longer-term studies could reveal a change in cognitive function in participants…. and the hope that further study will identify positive effects from omega-3 supplementation in preventing cognitive decline in older people…..
