University level classes can be difficult to earn passing grades, but does having a headache make it more challenging?  Unfortunately it can.

According to recent study the prevalence of headaches or migraines in the past 12 months among college students was 87.2%.  Of those students reporting headaches in the last 3 months, it was reported that 8.7% sought emergency services, 30.8% missed class, 69.5% reported decreased productivity and 75.6% reported using analgesics.  The study does show that there is a link between headaches and lower academic performance.  Don’t let your headaches affect your academic performance. We see many college students at Robbins Headache Clinic for headaches, migraines, anxiety, depression, insomnia and attention-deficit disorders.
